29th June - iPhone release date

April - The Swine flu spreads across the UK

14th April - A volcanic ash cloud disturbs air traffic across Northern and Western Europe
12th May - First ever hung parliament
October - The launch of Instagram

29th April - The Royal wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton takes place

27th July – 12th August - London hosts the Olympic games
12th September - King Richard III remains discovered

7th July - Andy Murray wins Wimbledon
22nd July - Prince George Alexander Louis is born

19th September - Scotland votes to remain part of the UK

26th March - King Richard III is reinterred at Leicester Cathedral
2nd May - Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana is born.
18th September – 31st October - The UK host the Rugby World Cup.

2nd May - Against the odds, Leicester City Football Club win the Premier League
24th June - Britain votes to leave the EU
