Red Rooster Fabrics Appoint EQS as UK Distributor

Following discussions held at the Quilt Market show in Houston last month, European Quilting Supplies has been named as the UK distributor for the range of Red Rooster fabrics.

As a subsidiary of General Fabric Co, Red Rooster specialises in craft and quilting fabrics. The designs are characterised in two broad groups: traditional, earthy American prints, many of them on a small scale, and contemporary novelty prints, many featuring cats.

Graeme Wright of EQS explains the decision to expand their offering of fabrics: “We have a fairly wide selection of fabric manufacturers that we represent but earlier in the year we identified a couple of areas where we were not in a position to supply our customers’ needs. Red Rooster fills one of the gaps perfectly so when we were approached ahead of Quilt Market, we were very keen to meet with them and review the range. We were not disappointed and within an hour the agreement was in place.

"We anticipate making one further addition to our range of fabrics in the near future at which point we will be able to satisfy most of the requirements of the British consumer."

Carol de Souza, Director of Sales & Marketing at Red Rooster, believes that they have found the perfect partnership. "We have looked at the UK market in the past but the challenge has always been finding the right partner to work with. A mutual contact suggested EQS, we got in touch by phone and from there it seemed to happen very quickly. The early signs are that we are going to be very successful and look forward to working more closely with EQS in the years ahead."
