New Slash Cutter from Clover

28/02/2005

Clover Mfg of Japan have just launched the latest version of their very popular Slash Cutter in the UK. Designed to cut faux chenille accurately and quickly, the original cutter used to come in two versions: straight and curved. The straight model had a longer guide to avoid wobbles when cutting while the curved version had a short guide to go round the curves without jamming.

The new model now has both guides so that there is no need to choose between one and the other. In addition, the handle has been completely re-designed to give a greater level of comfort. Padded areas at the main pressure points provide not only a softer feel but with the lightly textured surface, there is less likelihood of fingers slipping.

To use, sew evenly spaced lines through several layers of fabric. Insert the guide between the sewn lines, above the bottom layer and push. The blade cuts through the top layers so that when washed, the fabrics give the look and feel of chenille.

The Slash Cutter takes a standard 28mm replacement rotary cutter blade.

The new product will cost around £10.50 each and are arriving in the shops in the spring of 2005.
