New EQS Web Site Goes Live

As part of its on-going commitment to supporting its retail customers, Leicester based European Quilting Supplies has just updated its web site with a total re-design of the layout and content.

The new site caters for four distinct types of visitors: retailers, consumers, suppliers and corporate. While plans are afoot to incorporate an on-line catalogue and ordering for shops later in the year, for now the site is designed to give further insight to anyone who is interested in the company and the products that it offers.

The Consumer section contains a series of pages that describe the ranges that EQS offers with broad details of the companies that it deals with. Possibly of most interest is a store locator page where the consumer enters his or her postcode and is automatically directed to the five closest shops. The listing is does not include every retailer that the company deals with. "We are conscious of the fact that on our recommendation consumers will be visiting shops to look for our products," explains Graeme Wright. "If when they get there they see only a small selection, the customer is upset and it devalues the list as a resource. To avoid that we only show those shops who have made a significant commitment to EQS by taking a wide range of products. Other shops will be added as they expand what they do."

While consumers have access to the entire site, it is made very clear in several places that EQS only supplies retail outlets and not direct to the public. There is no information on wholesale prices.

In the Retailers section the company is also keen to highlight in more detail the considerable support that it offers to those retailers who buy from it.
