EQS Expands Again

With the addition of the OTT-Lite range, Clothworks fabrics and the extra business generated by the recent additions to the sales team, EQS have expanded their premises with the acquisition of a further warehouse unit. Taking on an additional 2,500 square feet, the total area occupied by the company is now 6,500 feet.
With the rate of growth that the company has experienced over the last two years and with projections for the rest of 2004 and 2005 of the same order, it was only a matter of time before more space was needed.
"Although we took over our second unit just a year ago, we are already finding that we are bursting at the seams," says Elizabeth Counsell-West, director responsible for operations in the company. "The new unit is right alongside the first space we took eight years ago so we will be able amalgamate the two to create a more efficient warehouse system. That way we will be in a position to handle the increase in business without detriment to our customer service.
"We will also be using part of the area for additional office space. We plan to add to our order processing section and we need to accommodate the extra people."
The company occupies the new unit from September and will spend the time between then and the end of the year making it ready for their own needs and reorganising the warehousing systems.
